Down by the water yesterday
All sunshine and wetness and frogs
I realized
Gradually
That I have been granted
A longing -
To enjoy this creation glory
With my grandchildren.
I think perhaps
I have looked forward to this one
Particular moment
For a sweet and longish time.

To the mother of this
Astonishing Nature Child
Splashing on this day
Of longings fulfilled.
