Back in April when we were laying out plans for this summer, it's always sort of formed itself or us around two phases.
Before Thailand, and after Thailand.
Then Thailand. Just, wow.
And now Phase Two "After Thailand". Starts with four days with four grandkids (of the boy-kind). Then into several days all on our own to quietly mark 45 years of marriage. Another weekend with Abby only. Then a few "perhaps" visitors. And on like that until Labour Day weekend. After that it's wait and see.
I need to acknowledge a loss as well, in this last part of the summer. The husband of a long time friend passed away last Tuesday following a severe stroke earlier this spring. So in the midst of my packing there are sorrows and prayers. The week home has been a mixed bag of 'all the things' my abundant relational life offers. Rejoice with. Mourn with.
And this morning. A fresh start into all that summer 2023 has to offer.
